Growing up

For as much as I want to call myself an adult, I know I have a lot of growing up to do. I know I'm a little late on the New Year's resolutions, but I usually don't like to do them and then disappoint myself when I fall through on them. I just tried reading some news articles online to become more educated globally, however, I really have no context for what is happening as I haven't been in the loop for years, and even if I was, there is so much history behind all of the various countries interactions that I have no idea how sided or biased the media is being. That is usually why I trust Karl's judgement/opinion on things. Regardless, I need to learn more for myself and really care to drive myself to do it. Another thing that is a bit difficult about growing up, is having grown up hobbies. When you talk with people at work about your weekend and what you did, saying you stayed up really late playing videogames and drinking beers isn't really something you wa...

Over Thinking....

Just finished up watching some football at Clive's apartment with Clive and Brittany. I've been in a bit of a funk the last few days so I'm hoping that blogging will help me feel back to normal. On Friday at work I had a really long day... I had a bunch of testing to do in the fab, so I was in there for several hours staring at computer screens. I had taken off my safety glasses as I was getting a terrible headache, and then I was confronted by a supervisor about not wearing safety glasses. :( I knew I was in the wrong, but they were only off for about 1-2 minutes while I was at the computer due to my headache. I felt so ashamed for getting in trouble, afterwards I began crying in the fab. :( I never get in trouble and felt so terrible. I know, it is really silly but I felt really bad, especially since it was a supervisor from another department. They were nice, I just felt so terrible. The operators were concerned something bad had happened. Apparently I'm not good at ...

Wedding things, Work things

Hi there! It has been a loonnggg time since I last wrote. I've been pretty busy with the whole moving into a new place, making lots of wedding crafts, acclimating to new job and just overall being busy. Two weeks from today I will be getting married to my best friend and the man I love. I'm really excited to come home from work and share a meal with him instead of being lonely in this apartment. I'm excited to be done with wedding things. Though it is nice to craft, it is very stressed out crafting, especially with the time crunch coming. I'm happy to be done spending over $200/month on gas driving to different things, though ultimately, it was our choice, but still. Wedding season is expensive for everyone. I'm so stoked to be going up to Victoria BC for a honeymoon. I'm happy to know a bunch of friends, family, and co-workers/ex-co-workers will be attending and I get to have one party in which I get to see them all and spend some time with them! Work has been ...

Dreams Coming True!

Image
Hi all, So since my last post, a lot has fallen into place about when/where I will be this summer. Surprisingly enough, the day after my last post of being at peace and not knowing where I was going, I received a job offer. I then followed up with another company to ask what my standing was before accepting the first job offer, and they too offered me a job. Having options, I chose to accept a position as a Process Engineer with ON Semiconductor up in Gresham Oregon, and am very excited! I think I just needed to be at peace not knowing where I was going and then I was blessed with some direction. Talk about nail-biting, as it was during finals week and getting through group projects, finals, presentations, and closing the building. Plus packing and trying to move and coordinating the various graduation activities. Regardless of such, here are some photos from my last few weeks at Oregon State University! (Most are graduation photos, and one from working in the lab.) Mary (left) an...

I Don't Know What I'm Doing... And That's Okay

Hi again! After a couple of months I'm sure you're all wondering what I'm going to do now that I'm graduating. (Or maybe you're not...) Well, if you are, this is the post for you! In all honesty, I have no idea what I'm doing. All I know is that in August, I get to marry my best friend. A week from yesterday, I'll be participating in Commencement at OSU receiving my Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering, and a week from today I will be packed up and moved out of my last dorm room. I will be doing the thing that I don't want to do, and that I said  I'd never do, which is moving back to Dallas. By moving, I mean, using it as a storage space, til I have a place of my own. Currently, Karl and I plan on going down to Grants Pass to just relax. For the first time in our relationship, neither of us will be working or taking classes. We will not have a routine, or other things to do/work on. I'm really scared to not have a purpose after graduatio...

Maybe It's Good to Be Alone

Hey there, I'm a little excited, two blogs in one week! All too often, I find that I'm parceling out every single hour of my day to this task, or this meeting, or just plain vegging out on the computer and getting my daily dose of social media and "ooh-ing" and "ahh-ing" over pinterest and cute animal videos. I am constantly engaged in everything: School, RA work, wedding tasks, job applications, social media, friends, etc. With all of this, I really don't get to take the time to think things through. I just am constantly on auto-pilot going through the motions necessary to keep me on top of all of the things to do so I don't fall behind. I don't really get to process things unless I'm talking with Karl about everything or how my day was. I've lost that critical thinker inside of me. I used to weigh the pros and cons, lay my decisions before the Lord, heavy with prayer and contemplation. I used to find such deep meaning and justification...
